CHOATE, Ward N., lawyer; born, Ann Arbor, Mich., June 21, 1873; son of William E. and Minerva (Haynes) Choate; educated in high schools of Jackson and Ann Arbor, University of Michigan (Literary Department) and Detroit College of Law, but did not graduate (had been admitted to the bar before he attended College of Law); married, Feb. 19, 1908, Harriett E. Gault, of Detroit. Betame registered pharmacist, 1890; has practiced law since July, 1895; was member law firm of Choate & Webster, 1904-8; Choate, Webster, Robertson & Lehmann, 1908-12, since member Choate, Robertson & Lehmann. Assistant prosecuting attorney Wayne County, 1901-4; estimator at large, City of Detroit, 1906-8. Member American and Michigan State Bar associations, Association Bar City of Detroit (formerly 2d vice president), Detroit Board of Commerce; member Michigan National Guard, 1901-4. Republican. Mason, Knight Templar, Shriner; member B. P. O. Elks, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Club: Lawyers' (executive committee). Recreation: gardening. Office: 433 Majestic Bldg. Residence: 2737 W. Grand Boul.
