CHAPIN, Roy Dikeman, manufacturer of automobiles; born, Lansing, Mich., Feb. 23, 1880; son of Edward C. and Ella (King) Chapin; graduate Lansing High School, and attended University of Michigan; unmarried. Has been engaged in the manufacture of automobiles in Detroit since Feb., 1901; general sales manager Olds Motor Works, 1904-6; organized E. R. Thomas Detroit Co., 1906, and treasurer and general manager same, 1906-8; treasurer and general manager Chalmers Detroit Motor Co., 1908-10; now president Hudson Motor Car Co., Eastern Realty Co.; treasurer Sterling Realty Co.; director Old Detroit National Bank; secretary National Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Automobile Board of Trade; member board of directors American Highway Association. Member Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Clubs: University (director), Country, Detroit Boat, Detroit, Detroit Athletic (director), Detroit Motor Boat, Detroit Racquet, Bloomfield Hills Country, Automobile of Detroit, Aero of Michigan, Aero of America. Recreations: automobiling and outdoor sports. Identified with the good roads movement. Office: Hudson Motor Car Co. Residence: 153 Van Dyke Ave.
