CHANDLER, Clarence J., packer and shipper of eggs; born, Canton, St. Lawrence Co., N. Y., Mar. 29, 1871; son of Harvey G. and Maria (Stacy) Chandler; educated public schools of St. Lawrence County, N. Y.; married, Jan. 1, 1896, Myrta Kempf, of Chelsea, Mich.; two children: Dorothy E., Harold K. Began active career with father, packing and shipping eggs, in St. Lawrence Co., N. Y.; later in same line of business in Manchester, N. H., Boston, New York, and Chelsea, Mich., 1894; came to Detroit, 1898; operates egg packing and shipping warehouses in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan, and ships high grade eggs to New York, Philadelphia, Boston and New England; is regarded as the largest operator in that Commodity in United States. President Hudson Produce Co., Hudson, Mich.; vice president Elmore Produce Co., Elmore, O.; director Wauseon Produce Co. (Wauseon, O.), Detroit Baking Co., Rowley Scale & Supply Co., Detroit; member firm of Hough Manufacturing Co., manufacturers of galvanized iron products. Republican. Congregationalist. Member Detroit Board of Commerce, National Butter and Egg Dealers' Association, Ohio Butter and Egg Dealors' Association, Michigan Butter and Egg Dealers' Association.
