Blanch Marie. Began active career in Cincinnati, as employe of Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cincinnati & St. Louis
Railway; was appointed soliciting freight agent and later general freight and passenger agent of the Detroit, Lima
& Northern By. (now the D., T. &. I. R. R.), also Detroit, Toledo & Milwaukee R. R. (now part of the
L. S. & M. S. Ry.); resigned to enter wholesale coal business as general manager sales of Luhrig Coal Co.,
Cincinnati; representative in Detroit of the Fairmont Coal Co., 1903-9, The Consolidation Coal Co., 1909-12; manager
Detroit branch same, since 1912. Served 14 years as member 1st Regiment, Ohio National Guard. Republican. Methodist.
