CARTER, David S., secretary and treasurer Larned, Carter & Co.; born, Detroit, 1870; son of David and Frances (Leonard) Carter; educated in Detroit public and high schools; married, Detroit, Sept. 12, 1899, Grace Gillis (died, June 11, 1902); one son, David Grace Carter. Engaged in furniture business 1889-97; assisted in organizing Larned, Carter & Co., manufacturers of overalls, 1897, and has since been secretary and treasurer of the company; also director Detroit Savings Bank. Member Detroit Board of Conunerce; vice president Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children; member Sons of American Revolution, Elder First Presbyterian Church. Republican. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Athletic, Country (director), Detroit Boat. Recreations: golf and automobiling. Office: 264 Howard St. Residence: Grosse Pointe Village, Mich.
