CARROW, Flemming physician; born, Still Pond, Md., Aug. 4, 1853; son of Martindale and Henrietta (Hepbron) Carrow; graduate West River Military Academy; A.B., Columbia University (now George Washington University), Washington, D. C., 1870, and degree of M.D. from Medical Department, same university, 1874; (M.A., University of Michigan, 1903); married at Wilmington, Del., Oct. 21, 1875, Teressa England (died, 1898); one son, Eerbert; married, 2nd, Kate Withington, of .Jackson, Mich., July 31, 1912. Began practice at Canton, China, 1874, as surgeon in military service of Chinese Government, continuing until 1885; returned to United States and for 17 years filled position of professor of ophthalmology, University of Michigan; resigned from professorship, 1904, and has since practiced in Detroit. Member State Board of Registration in Medicine, American Medical Association, Anthropological Society of Paris, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Royal Society of Portugal. Republican. Episcopalian. Mason, Knight Templar, Shriner. Club: Detroit. Recreations: hunting and fishing. Office: 503 Washington Arcade. Residence: The Palms. Summer Home: Traverse City, Mich.
