CARMICHAEL, Robert A., manufacturing chemist; born, Dalhousie, New Brunswick, Can., Mar. 16, 1876; son of Dugald and Elizabeth (Archibald) Carmichael; educated in public schools of Canada; married, Mar. 28, 1906, Margaret Alexander, of Detroit. Located in Oalumet, Mich., 1895; became druggist's clerk and finally manager of a drug store; removed to Detroit, 1904, and entered retail drug business; buyer, toilet department, for Crowley, Milner & Co., department store, 1910-11; organized, 1911, B. A. Carmichael & Co., manufacturing chemists, perfumers and toilet specialists, and is secretary and treasurer same. Republican. Presbyterian. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Mason and Odd Fellow. Office: 20 Woodbridge St. E. Residence: 141 Bethune Ave. E.
