BUTCHER, James Isaiah, wholesale lumber; born, Tyrone, Livingston County, Mich., Dec. 27, 1873; son of George and Pluma Anne (Hudson) Butcher; descended from Abraham Hudson, five years in Revolutionary War; graduated Mt. Pleasant (Mich.) High School, 1893; married, June 27, 1900, Mary Adeline Cassady, of Mt. Pleasant; two children: Charles Hudson, Nardin James. Engaged as school teacher, 1893-6; saw mill and lumber operator, 1896-1907; in wholesale lumber busisince 1907; general manager and treasurer The Kuehl Butcher Lumber Co., since Dec. 27, 1911; vice president Crane Findlayson Building Co.; secretary and treasurer The Lewis Construction Co.; treasurer The Card Lumber & Manufacturing Co. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Republican. Baptist. Member Masons, B. P. O. Elks. Clubs: Followcraft, Detroit Hardwood. Recreation: outdoor sports. Office: Twentieth St. and Michigan Ave. Residence: 2886 West Grand Boulevard.
