Burgess; educated at Woodstock College and Michigan College of Medicine and Surgery, graduating, degree of M.D.,
1891; married at Wolverton, Out., 1889, Gladys H. French; one son, Harold. Came to Detroit, 1890; practiced medicine
in Detroit, 1891-1906, having attained an extensive practice when he retired from field of medicine in January,
1906, to devote his attention to business. Treasurer and assistant manager until 1908 of Northwestern Foundry and
Supply Co. (established, 1900), manufacturers of plumbers' cast irin specialties; resumed practice 1908; elected
coroner Wayne County for years 1909 and 1910; re-elected for years 1911-12 and 1913-14. Member Wayne County Medical
Society, Michigan State Medical Society, American Medical Association. Republican. Member Independent Order of
Foresters, I. O. O. F. Loyal Order of Moose. Recreation: books. Office: 405 Hodges Bldg. and County Bldg. Residence:
33 Mt. Vernon Avenue.
