BUCK, John D., undertaker; born, Harrisburg, Pa., Nov. 25, 1859; son of Noah R. and Catherine (Marquet) Buck; educated private schools, Harrisburg; unmarried. Became a resident of Detroit, 1873; engaged in manufacture of hosiery eight years; then in railroad business for fifteen years; began study of embalming and undertaking, 1899; in business on own account since 1901. Special agent Census Department in Detroit, 1900.and 191 Republican. Presbyterian. Member National Funeral Directors' and Embalmers' Association, Michigan Funeral Directors' and Embalmers' Association. Mason; member Royal Areanum. Recreation: country life. Office and Residence: 22 Madison Ave.
