BRYANT, Willard, music dealer; born, Logansport, Ind., Nov. 28, 1862; son of John and Mary L. (Smith) Bryant; educated in public schools of Hillsdale, Mich., and by home study; married at Eaton Rapids, Mich., Jan. 3, 1884, Minnie J. Slade; one daughter, M. Louise. Entered professional ranks as cornetist, 1882; teacher in Detroit Conservatory of Music, 1891-95; music dealer and manufacturer of band instruments since 1897; president Bryant Newell Co. Served as musician in 3d and 4th Regiments, Michigan National Guard. Member Musicians' Protective and Benevolent Association. Mason; member Knights of Pythias, Maccabees. Recreation: fishing. Office: 218 Woodward Ave.; Residence: 2924 E. Grand Boul.
