BROWN, Wallace Everett, manufacturer incandescent gas mantles; born, Bellefontaine, O., May 9, 1874; son of Robert H. and Elizabeth (Miltenberger) Brown; educated University of Michigan, 1895-96; Cornell University, 1897-98; Detroit College of Law, 1899; married, Detroit, Nov. 13, 1899, Sara J. Clark; one son, Robert H. Served as newspaper reporter on Evening News and Times, Detroit; later advertising writer; took up incandescent gas mantle manufacturing, 1902; now president Michigan Gas Mantle Co.; sales manager New Process Gas Mantle Co., Philadelphia; secretary Grosse Ile Railway Co., director Day Automobile Co. Progressive. A founder of Lambda Sigma Fraternity; member Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Theta Nu Epsilon. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Boat, Wolverine Auto. Recreation: automobiling. Office: 21 Atwater St. W., Detroit. Residence: Grosse Tie, Mich.
