Followed farming for thirty-five years in St. Clair County, Mich., also sailed the lakes as mate of various vessels;
began in printing business, 1893, also conducted a newspaper, The Marine City Magnet; removed to Detroit, 1900,
and started M. V. Brown & Sons Co., of which is president and manager. Served as trustee Marine City, two terms;
marshal, two years; supervisor, three years. Democrat. Presbyterian. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Mason. Recreation:
