BROWN, Francis W., retired; born, Cuyahoga Co., O., May 14, 1860; son of William and Sophronia (Searles) Brown; educated district schools, Cuyahoga County; married, Nov. 21, 1878, Maggie Sell, of Sharon, Pa.; two children: Minnie, Maude (wife of Dr. Geo. Vaulkner). Followed farming until twenty four years of age; came to Michigan, 1884, and located in Ithaca; started produce business there, and was the pioneer shipper of produce in Gratiot County; removed to Detroit in 1903 and since in same line of business. Served as village president, trustee, supervisor and school director, Ithaca. Republican. Methodist. Member Detroit Butter and Egg Board (president, 1910 and 1911). Member Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias. Office: 82 Woodbridge St. W. Residence: 865 2d Ave.
