BROOKE, Howard, investment securities; born, Montgomery Co., Md., Nov. 22, 1867; son of Edmund H. and Fanny (Ingle) Brooke; educated in public schools of Detroit; married at Detroit, Apr. 14, 1903, Helen Clark; children: Lucy D., Edmund H., Marian I., William. D. Began, 1880, in employ of James E. Davis & Co., wholesale drugs, Detroit, continuing until 1888; was with Commercial National Bank, 1898-99; National Linseed Oil Co., 1900-1; Crescent Transportation Co., 1902-3, and with J. T. Wing & Co., 1894; organized, and was vice president of The T. W. Noble Co., 1895-1902; organized the Detroit Bag & Manufacturing Co., 1902, and was its president and general manager until 1904; was connected with Detroit Terminal Railway Co. (Outer Belt), 1905-6; became manager Detroit office E. B. Cadwell & Co., June, 1906, partner of firm since 1907. Secretary and treasurer American League Library; president Hydraulic Oil Storage & Engineering Co., Guaranteed Securities Corporation. Assistant treasurer Detroit Brokers' Association, 1909-12; member Detroit Board of Commerèe. Episcopalian. Member Loyal Legion (by inheritance), V. M. C. A. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Boat, Indian Village. Recreation: outdoor sports. Office: Penobscot Bldg. Residence: 280 Burns Ave.
