BROOKE, Flavius L., judge; born, Simcoe, Ont., Oct. 7, 1858; son of John and Sarah (Mann) Brooke; educated in. common schools of Canada; Albert College, Bellevile, Ont., 1877-79; Osgood Hall, Toronto, 1880-84; married at Stratford, Ont., Can., Nov. 27, 1884, Miss B. Reidy, of Simcoe. School teacher, 1874-77; admitted to bar, 1884; removed to Detroit, 1885; entered law office of Colonel Atkinson and Judge Marston, firm becoming Atkinson, Carpenter & Brooke, 1887; member firm of Brooke & Spalding, 1892-96; then practiced alone; supervisor of census, First District of Michigan, 1900; judge of Circuit Court, 1900-8; justice Supreme Court of Michigan since 1908. Club: Detroit. Recreation: fishing. Address: Supreme Court, Lansing, Mich. Residence: 82 Melbourne Ave., Detroit.
