BRONNER, Edmond D., railway official; born, Buffalo, N. Y., Feb. 19, 1859; son of Charles and Sophia (Devening) Bronner; educated in grammar and high schools of Buffalo, and U. S. Naval Academy; married, June 16, 1885, Hattie M. Bailey, of Lansing, Mich.; one daughter, Harriet (Mrs. Joseph Harry). Began as draftsman in corresponding department of Canada Southern Railway, at St. Thomas, Ont., July, 1880; came to Detroit, Feb., 1883, and entered car shops of Michigan Central Railway; appointed assistant general foreman of shops, 1885; general foreman, 1886; master car builder, 1890; assistant superintendent motor power and equipment, 1896; superintendent, 1900; general manager, same road, since 1912. Director Detroit Brass Works, Detroit Valve & Fittings Co. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Clubs: Detroit Athletic, Detroit Boat, Detroit Motor Boat, Detroit Automobile. Office: Michigan Central R. R. Residence: 38 Garfield Ave.
