BRENTON, Samuel, veterinary surgeon; born on farm, Hastings Co., Ont., Can., Oct. 10, 1858; son of Francis and Elizabeth (Brenton) Brenton; educated in public schools, Ontario, Can.; Ontario Commercial College; V.S., Ontario Veterinary College, Toronto, 1880; married, Dec. 1, 1880, Florence M. Vicary, of Australia; three children: Arthur S., Willis L., practicing with father, Rosalie Lillian (Mrs. A. P. Schiffer). Practiced in Jackson, Mich., 1880-87; moved to Detroit, 1887, and located at 27 Lafayette Ave.; built the Detroit Veterinary Sanitarium, 1897, and since president of company. Member State Veterinary Board, Detroit Board of Commerce. Member American Veterinary Medical Association (president, 1911-12), Michigan State Veterinary Medical Society (one of organizers and expresident and ex treasurer), Michigan Academy of Science. Mason; member Odd Fellows, Royal Arcanum. Recreations: outdoor sports and music. Office: Detroit Veterinary Sanitarium. Residence: 121 Alexaudrine Ave. W.
