BREITMEYER, Philip, florist; born, Detroit, May 13, 1864; son of John and Fredericka (Schneider) Breitmeyer; educated in public schools of Detroit; married at Philadelphia, Mar. 19, 1886, Katie Grass. Has been closely identified with cultivation and sale of flowers since his childhood and is president of John Breitmeyer's Sons, florists. Also president Breitmeyer Building Co., Michigan Cut Flower Exchange; vice president GermanAmerican Bank; member firm Lohrman Seed Co.; was park commissioner City of Detroit, and Mayor, 1909-10. Republican. Mason; member Knights of Pythias; Odd Fellows; Royal Arcanum, and other organizations. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Boat, Detroit Yacht, Rushmere, Harmonie Society. Recreations: outdoor sports. Office: Broadway and Gratiot. Residence: 66 Delaware Ave.
