BRADY, George Nexsen, retired; born, Detroit, Aug. 25, 1837; son of Samuel Preston and Elizabeth Mary (Nexsen) Brady; grandson of General Hugh Brady, U. S. Army, prominent in Michigan seventy five years ago, and after whom Fort Brady was named; educated in private school conducted by Professor Nutting, Lodi, Mich.; Gregory Commercial College, Detroit; married, Dec., 1865, Augusta McClelland (died, Apr. 22, 1909); two children: Robert McClelland and Mary A. (Mrs. Robert M. Berry). For many years member of firm of Brady & Co., commission merchants and dealers (business founded by his father in 1847). President Elmwood Cemetery; director Detroit Fire & Marine Insurance Co. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Episcopalian. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Boat, Lake St. Clair Fishing and Shooting, Bloomfield Hills Country. Recreation: farming. Office: 9 Woodward Ave. Residence: Birmingham, Oakland Co., Mich.
