BRABANT, Francis X., manufacturer; born, Clayton, Jefferson Co., N. Y., June 23, 1859; son of Hyacinth and Bibieaunt
(Duval) Brabant; educated in public schools of Clayton and Wallaceburg, Ont., Can.; married, June 3, 1891, Margaret
M. Johnson, of Wallaceburg. Began active career as grocer's clerk, Wallaceburg, later engaging in grocery business
on own account for four years; moved to Toronto and continued in business there one year; came to Michigan, 1889,
and for three years was in retail grocery business at Newbury; located in Detroit and was connected with grocery
business until he organized the Standard Brass Works, of which was secre tary and treasurer; disposed of his interests
and retired for about one year; organized the Standard Brass Manufacturing Co., of Windsor, Out., Can.; returned
to Detroit and in Sept., 1911, formed the Michigan Brass & Foundry Co., of which has since been president and
manager. Republican. Catholic. Member Knights of Columbus. Office: 1218-22 Hastings St. Residence: 979 Lawton Ave.
