BOYNTON, Walter Channing, publisher; born, Detroit, Sept. 8, 1876; son of Albert Grenville and Frances Gertrude (Patten) Boynton; educated in Detroit graded and High Schools; A.B., University of Michigan, 1899; married, June 22, 1898, Irene Katherine Goddard, of Denver, Colo.; one daughter,Lucile Goddard. On staf of Free Press, 1899-1903; manager Detroit Medical Journal, 1903-4; assistant Sunday editor Free Press, 1905-6; assistant secretary, Board of Commerce, 1906; secretary and treasurer, Concrete Publishing Co., 1906-12; president ConcreteCement Age Publishing Co., since 1912. Unitarian. Member Archaeological Institute of America, Sons American Revolution, Sigma Phi, Detroit Fine Arts Society. Clubs: Detroit Boat, University, Prismatic, Scarabs.
