BOWER, Robert F., president Bower Roller Bearing Co.; born, Lima, O., Aug. 22, 1874; son of Columbus T. and Lucia A. (Schwab) Bower; educated in public schools; married, Oct., 1906, Macie A. Wright, of Linia, O.; two children: Burchard. B. and Virginia A. Began active career at Lima, as manager Hover Park Summer Resort, remaining two years; then in the vehicle manufacturing business at Lima, six years; went to Dayton, O., and in 1907, invented the Bower Boiler Bearings; Aug. 1, 1907, organized the Bower Roller Bearing Co., of which has since been president and general manager. Company moved its plant to Detroit, Feb. 22, 1911. Member Society of Automobile Engineers. Club: Wolverine Automobile. Recreations: baseball and golf. Office; Hart and Goethe Sts. Residence: 480 Garland Ave.
