(freshman year); entered sophomore class University of Rochester and was graduated, A.B., 1879; married at Rochester,
May 10, 1881, Grace M. Woodbury; four Sons: Edgar W., Julian P., Charles C., 2d, Paul M. Came to Detroit after
leaving college, 1879, and entered employ of D. M. Ferry & Co., seedsinen; was elected treasurer, 1887, general
manager, 1900, and on death of D. M. Ferry, 1907, became president. President Standard Accident Insurance Co.,
of Detroit, Mich.; vice president Security Trust Co.; director Detroit Edison Co., Michigan Savings Bank; trustee
Harper Hospital. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Republican. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Athletic, University, Country,
Old Club. Recreation: traveling. Office: D. M. Ferry & ço.
