BORCHARD, Charles L.; born, Detroit, June 27, 1855; son of Ferdinand and Amelia (Schaefer) Borchard; educated German American Seminary, Detroit; married, July 1, 1884, Louisa Bartenbach, of Detroit; three children: Carl, Lola, Nelda. Began as cabinet maker with father, 1868; associated with brother Ferdinand, 1897, in manufacture of caskets; bought out brother's interest, 1906, and now proprietor Michigan Casket Co. Republican. Protestant. Member National Casket Manufacturers' Association. Office: 249 Rivard St. Residence: 216 Macomb St.
