BOGGS, Henry Hunt, machinery; born, Springfield, O., Nov. 28, 1867; son of Riddle and Marie Louise (Hayward) Boggs; descended from Major John Boggs, 1732, of Cumberland County, Pa.; educated public schools, Springfield; married, June 19, 1896, Annie Louise Barker, of Springfield. Began active career, 1883, as machinist's apprentice, St. John Sewing Machine Co., Springfield, continuing four years; with William Whitley Co., Springfield, 1887-9; with Machinist Supply Co., Chicago, 1889-93; entered employ of Strong, Carlisle & Hammond Co., of Cleveland, in 1897; vice president and general manager The Strong, Carlisle & Hammond Co., of Detroit, since incorporation, 1908. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Former member Battery E, 1st Regt., O. N. G.; first sergeant, Troop B, 1st Cav., M. N. G. Republican. Episcopalian. Member Ohio Society, Sons American Revolution. Mason, City of Straits Lodge, Michigan Sovereign Consistory, 32°, Moslem Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S. Clubs: Detroit Athletic, Detroit Motor Boat, Detroit Yacht, Wolverine Auto. Recreations: automobiling, hunting, motor boating. Office: 42-46 Congress St. E. Residence: 368 Hurlbut Ave.
