and Sophie (Erk) Boerth; educated public schools, Milwaukee; married, March, 1885, Rose Zeigner, of Chicago; four
children: Hattie, Fred, Mabel, Rose Marie. Learned the baking trade in Milwaukee, and pie baking in Chicago; began
as pie baker in Milwaukee, 1886, later adding restaurant; sold out, 1893, and came to Detroit; started the New
England Pie Co., of which is secretary and treasurer. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. 32° Mason, Shriner.
