BLOME, Alfred R., photographers' supplies; born, Detroit, Jan. 4, 1869; son of Fred C. and Elizabeth (Zeigler) Blome; family settled at Detroit, in the '40s; public school education; married, 1903, Margaret Halstead, of Harrow, Ont., Can.; one son, Alfred Halstead. Began active career in employ of the Allen Bros., photographers' supplies, 1881, continuing until 1899; then entered business on own account as Blome Bros.; incorporated, 1902, as Blome Bros. Co., of which is secretary and treasurer. Served in Michigan Naval Reserve ten years and was on U. S. S. Yosemite during war with Spain, 1898. Republican. Episcopalian. Member German American Association, Gilbert Wilkes Commandery of United Spanish War Veterans, National Union. Office: 27 Grand River Ave. Residence: 38 Farnsworth Ave.
