BLACKMORE, John E., safes; born, Leslie, Ingham Co., Mich., June 18, 1865; son of James and Harriet (Allen) Blackmore; educated public schools of Ingham County; married, 1899, Orra Reald, of Dansville, Mich. Was railway postal clerk on Michigan Central R. R., operating between Bay City and Jackson, Mich., 1888-1902; entered safe business, Bay City, 1898; removed to Detroit, 1904, founded the Detroit Safe Co., of which has since been secretary and treasurer; vice president Pierce Hinsch Co., real estate and loans. Episcopalian. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Mason, K. T., Shriner. Club: Exchange. Recreations: hunting and fishing. Office: 50 Lafayette Boul. Residence: 143 Lafayette Boul.
