BIDDLE, Andrew Porter, physician; born, Detroit, Feb. 25, 1862; son of William S. and Susan Dayton (Ogden) Biddle; grandson of Maj. John Biddle, of Detroit, and of John Ogden, judge of supreme court of New Jersey; educated in public schools until 10 years of age; private school, Geneva, Switzerland; public high school, Heidelberg, Germany; Detroit High School, 1877-80; naval cadet, U. S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., 1880-83; M.D., Detroit College of Medicine, 1886; married at Boston, Oct. 20, 1892, Grate Wilkins; one daughter, Beatrice Bradish. In practice in Detroit since 1886; professor dermatology and syphulology, Detroit College of Medicine; dermatologist and secretary medical board, St. Mary's Hospital; dermatologist Children's Free Hospital, Women's Hospital, Infants' Home; consulting dermatologist Protestant Orphan Asylum. Member Michigan State Board of Health, 1913-19. Member American Dermatological Association, American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society (general secretary, 1900-6, and editor of the Journal of the society, 1902-6), Wayne County Medical Society, Detroit Academy of Medicine. Major and surgeon 31st Michigan Volunteer Infantry during Spanish American War, 1898. Democrat. Episcopalian. Recreation: amateur gardening. Office: J. Henry Smith Bldg. Residence: 187 Seminole Ave.
