BENNETT, Charles D., general insurance; born, Grand Rapids, Mich., Feb. 11, 1868; son of Joseph H. and Lydia (Roberts) Bennett; educated in Grand Rapids High School; married, Detroit, Apr. 30, 1895, Maie H. Clark; two children: Helen C. and Clark. Was engaged as salesman in jobbing lines from time of beginning his active career until 1893, when he entered casualty insurance business in Chicago; removed to Detroit, 1894, and was general agent of the Ocean Accident and Guarantee Corporation of London, Eng., until 1912; since president Bennett, Root & Dickinson, Inc., general insurance. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Republican. Episcopalian. Member Masonic order, Knights of Pythias. Clubs: Detroit Golf, Detroit Boat, Detroit Athletic. Recreation: golf. Office: 1012 Majestic Bldg. Residence: 80 Rhode Island Ave.
