BEAUMONT, John W., lawyer; born, Elizabeth, N. J., July 20, 1858; son of Wallace and Margaret (Belshaw) Beaumont; educated Elizabeth public schools; Michigan Agricultural College, Lansing, Mich., 1878-82, graduating, B.S., 1882; admitted to the bar at Saginaw, 1886; married, Saginaw, June 21, 1899, Alice Lord Burrows. Engaged in general practice of law in Detroit since 1886; senior member Beaumont, Smith & Harris since Apr. 1, 1909. Seaman on U. S. S. Yosemite, Spanish. American War, Apr.-Aug., 1898; judge advocate Michigan National Guard, 1904-6. Elected member Michigan State Board of Agriculture, 1911, for term of six years. Member American Bar and Michigan State Bar associations, Association Bar City of Detroit. Republican. Member Gilbert Wilkes Command Spanish American War Veterans. Clubs: University, Detroit, Detroit Boat, Prismatic, Green Bag, Grosse Pointe Riding and Hunt. Recreation: horseback riding. Office: 1123 Ford Bldg. Residence: 242 Seminole Ave.
