BAYLEY, Volney Pearsall, pianos; born, Troy, Mich., Apr. 28, 1843; son of James and Dorcas N. (Pearsall) Bayley; educated in home district school until 17; State Agricultural College, Lansing, 1860-62; Union School, Ypsilanti, 1863; Michigan State Normal School, three years, 1864-66, graduating 1866; married at Philadelphia, Nov. 27, 1872, Martha E. Mack; one son, Frank James. Entered. employ of C. J. Whitney, music dealer, Detroit, 1866, and continued with the house until 1895, since which time he has engaged in piano business on his own account. Republican. Recreations: automobiling, traveling. Office: 58 E. High St. Residence: 56 E. High Street.
