BAWDEN, George, produce; born, Cornwall, Eng., June 28, 1854; son of William and Rowena (Faull) Bawden; received collegiate education in England; married, London, Can., 1877, Emma Bryanton; two daughters: Eva (Mrs. Walter Lemkie), Alice (Mrs. Daniel Cunningham). Engaged in furniture business in London, Ont., where he lived 1864-89; came to Detroit and was in produce business under title of George Bawden & Co., 1889-93; has been identified with firm of A. Jacob & Co., wholesale fruit dealers and commission merchants, since 1893. Member Detroit Board of Conunerce. Member Detroit Produce Co. Republican. Methodist. Mason; member National Union, I. O. F. Recreation: outdoor sports. Office: 24 Woodbridge St. W. Residence: 191 20th St.
