Began as clerk in clothing store at Altoona, Pa.; later in same line at Cleveland and St. Paul; came to Detroit
in 1891 and was with J. L. Hudson until entered business for self, 1895; president and treasurer of the Baumgartner
Fashion Shop. Republican. Catholic. Member Detroit Board of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, Elks. Club: Fellowcraft.
Recreation: baseball. Office: 12-20 State St. Residence: 94 Delaware Avenue.
