BAUMGARTNER, Fredolin J., clergyman; born, Connors Creek, Mich., July 28, 1850; son of Wendelin J. and Frances (Anselm) Baumgartner; educated at St. Frances Seminary, Milwaukee, Wis. Ordained priest of the Roman Catholic Church, June 9, 1876; first charge, Lady of Help, Detroit, June 13, 1876-Nov. 26, 1876; in charge of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Pontiac, Mich., Nov. 26, 1876-Mar. 4, 1904, (the new St. Vincent de Paul Church was built during his pastorate); was chancellor and secretary of Diocese of Detroit Mar. 4, 1904-Nov., 1912; active in erection of the new St. Francis Home for Boys and in erection of buildings of the House of the Good Shepherd in Detroit. Has been in charge of St. Francis Home since its opening, 1908, making his residence there since Nov., 1912. Address: 3190 Woodward Ave., Highland Park.
