BASKERVILLE, Robert J., physician and surgeon; born, Meaford, Ont., Sept. 27, 1870; son of Rev. James and Mary O'Neil (Schoffe) Baskerville; graduated Owen Sound Collegiate Institute, 1892; M.D., Detroit College of Medicine, 1902; married Georgia Richardson, Apr. 21, 1913. Taught in public schools of Canada two years; was appointed school principal in Duluth, 1892; superintendent of the schools of Grand Rapid; Minn., 1896-97; in practice in Detroit since May, 1902. Captain and assistant surgeon M. N. G., assigned to Ambulance Co. No. 1; enlisted in Troop B, 1st Michigan Cavalry, 1906; appointed surgeon same 1907; transferred to Col. Kirk's staff, 1910. Republican. Methodist. Member Wayne County, Michigan State and American Medical association; Association of Military Surgeons of America. Member Detroit Orchestral Association, Archaeologists of America. Past Master of Oriental Lodge No. 240, F. & A. M.; member Michigan Sovereign Consistory; Moslem Temple, Nobles of Mystic Shrine, etc. Clubs: Pellowcraft, Detroit Yacht. Recreations: outdoor sports. Office: 401 Washington Arcade. Residence: 3442 Jefferson Ave.
