BARTON, Frank G., retired; born, Youngstown, N. Y., Mar. 27, 1852; son of Alexander B. and Elizabeth (Totten) Barton; educated in public schools of Youngstown; married, Youngstown, N. Y., 1877, Ida R. Emerson. Began active career as clerk in general store; removed to Detroit, 1882, and became partner, P. A. Billings; sold interest and associated with Arthur McBean in the firm of Barton & McBean, gas and electric fixtures, continuing until 1898, when Mr. McBean retired and firm became F. G. Barton & Co.; in 1904 organized the Barton & Netting Co., of which was president; retired from active business on account of ill health; organized the Pioneer Mantel & Fixture Co., of which was president until the company consolidated with the Detroit Mantel & Tile Co.; retired, 1912. Mason (32°), Shriner. Recreation: fruit farming. Residence: 42 Longfellow Ave.
