BARNES, George, railway service; born, Toronto, Ont., Aug. 9, 1874; son of John and Sarah Jane (Clarke) Barnes; educated public school, Toronto; married, Oct. 19, 1901, Helen Dickson Leslie, of Hamilton, Ont.; one son, Leslie Barnes. Began active career as clerk traffic department Grand Trunk Railway, Toronto, and was advanced till he became city agent in Toronto; came to Detroit as traveling freight agent for the Wisconsin Central Railway, Aug., 1905; general agent freight department Northern Pacific Railway, since May, 1908. Clubs: Transportation (Toledo, O.) Transportation, of Detroit, Michigan Outing. Recreations: golf, fishing, hunting. Office: 423 Majestic Bldg. Residence: 301 Merrick Ave.
