BAKER Charles Russell, photographer; born, Holyoke, Mass., Sept. 25, 1855; son of John R. and Marie (Green) Baker; descended from early settlers of New England; educated in public schools, Holyoke; married, Sarah Budd, of Detroit, Nov., 1882; one son, Owen Ritter Baker, of Chicago. Began as clerk in general store, Holyoke; removed to Detroit, 1874; entered employ of C. C. Randall, photo studio, 1874, continuing ten years; in business on own account since 1884, and now proprietor The Baker Art Studio. Club: Wolverine Automobile. Recreation: automobiing. Office: Baker Bldg., 89-91 Park Pl. Residence: 1227 Third Ave.
