and Matilda (Grube) Asmus; educated in public schools of Tavistock; married, at Detroit, 1906, Emily Kulewatz;
two children: Robert, Frederick. Came to Detroit, 1887; was engaged in tea, coffee and spice business, 1888-96;
then was connected for five years with life insurance business; associated with his brother, 1901, and. organized
the firm of Asmus Bros., teas, coffees and spices, in which has since continued. Member Detroit Credit Men's Association.
