HENRY A. PETERS was born in the town of Whiteford in 1850. He was married in 1878 to Lizzie Duguid, daughter of James and Elizabeth Duguid, of Toledo, O., who were natives of Scotland, and came to this country in 1857, and located at Sylvania, Lucas county, O., Henry A. Peters and wife have four children. His parents were David P. and Mary Peters, natives of the town of Sweden, Monroe county, N. Y.; they came to Lucas county, O., in 1837, and located at West Toledo, remaining there two years. In 1839 came to Whiteford, and bought 160 acres of land, ten acres of which was then but partly improved; he remained on this farm until his death in 1880. His widow still survives him, and resides on the old homestead.
