ISAAC J. ORDIWAY, son of Isaac and Sarah Ordiway, was born in Warren county, Pa., Jan. 14, 1837. He came to
this State in 1852, and settled in Lenawee county; enlisted there on the 18th day of April, 1861, in Co. K, 1st
Mich. V. I., and served three months; was at the battles of first Bull Run and Alexandria; reenlisted in 1862,
Co. A, 17th Mich. V. I., and served to the close of the war; was at the battles of South Mountain, Antietam and
others. He was married in 1866 to Tammed Butts, daughter of William and Jane A. Butts, of Ogden, Lenawee county,
by whom he has five children. In 1880 he purchssed the Mallett mill property at Whiteford Centre, and located there,
engaging in the lumber business as a manuracturer and dealer in all kinds of lumber and timber.
