CHARLES F. GERE was born in the town of Sparta, Livingston county, N. Y., in 1855. He came to Michigan in 1879
and located in Mecosta county, and remained there until 1882. He then went to Newaygo county, and from thence came
to Monroe county in 1885, locating in the township of Ida, on the 40 acres of land that he now owns and occupies.
His parents were John and Polly Gere, of Sparta, N. Y. He married Miss Edna Palmer, of Newaygo county, Mich. They
have two children.
