Barnum D. Seeley was born July 29,1848, at Ovid, Seneca Co., N. Y. He is the son of Hon. John E. Seeley of Seneca
county. Judge Seeley was a lawyer of eminence and ability. He was on the bench as County Judge several years, and
was elected member of Congress from his district in 1870, serving two terms. He was born in July, 1810, and died
at 65 years of age. His son bought 80 acres of land on sec. 24, this tp., in 1874, which he holds at $60 per acre.
He married Dec. 28, 1869, Addie, daughter of Sylvester and Rebecca Thomas, of Ovid. They have two children, Nellie,
born Oct. 31, 1870, and Sylvester, June 19, 1877. Three children died in infancy. Mr. Seeley is a Republican and
a member of the Baptist Church.
