Biography of James B. Drake

James B. Drake has been one of Bath's active business men for the last quarter of a century, having been extensively known as representing some of the leading fire and marine insurance companies of this country and England; united with this business he is largely engaged in buying and selling and is a large owner and manager of vessels. He has long been a large stockholder in the Kennebec & Boston Steamboat Company, and on its reorganization, in 1889, became its president. His management, as president of the company, commenced with the building and adding to the line the steamer Kennebec, the conducting of which he has made an eminent success. Mr. Drake is married, has a family, and has for many years been recording secretary of the Winter Street Congregational Society.
