Rogers, Charles L., a popular and well known citizen of the town of Dartmouth, was born in that town, March
13, 1847. His father, Leonard Rogers, was a sturdy pioneer, noted for sound business principles and sterling integrity.
His mother was Laura A. (Briggs) Rogers, a native of Dartmouth. Mr. Rogers received such educational advantages
as were offered in the common schools in those days and at an early age learned the millwright and carpenter's
trade, at which he has spent the most of his time since. He has always taken an active interest in public affairs,
and held the office of road surveyor when but nineteen years old. He has been one of the town assessors for the
past two years. In January, 1874, he married Delia A., daughter of William and Mary (Phillips) Allen of Dartmouth,
and they have four children: Charles W., Edward L., Mabel E., and Mary E.
