Biography of Charles Brightman
Bristol County, MA Biographies

Brightman, Charles, son of Thomas and Emily D. (Manchester) Brightman, was born in Fall River, Mass., May 8, 1848. After finishing his education in the public schools of his native city he was apprenticed to the iron moulder's trade and continued to follow this calling, in the employ of others for nine years. He then engaged in the poultry business which he carried on until 1894, when he removed to Westport and rebuilt the grain mill at that place and has since conducted a large and growing business. On December 24, 1884, he married Annie, daughter of Archibald and Catherine (McAulav) McDonald, and they have seven children: Alice M., Oliver T. Omar D., Irvin A., Walter D., Henry and an infant.
