P. L. MOLDEN, farmer, is a native of Clermont County, Ohio, and was born May 1, 1819. He remained in his native
State until 1838, when he removed to Fayette County, Ind., and in 1847 located in Tipton County; he has resided
here since, and has a farm of forty acres in Cicero Township, with thirty acres under 4ultivation and well drained.
In September, 1881, he lost his house and contents by fire, but rebuilt on the same spot. Mr. Molden was married
January 10, 1844, in Fayette County, Ind., to Miss Sarah J. Fielding. They have three children living - John Thomas,
Layton T. and Sherman P. L., and seven deceased, four of whom were grown - James R. A., Alcesta, Eva C. and William
S. Mr. Molden was troubled from the age of seventeen with white swelling, and in 1850 he was compelled to have
his right lower limb amputated. He has been compelled for many years to walk with crutches. James Molden, the father
of our subject, was a native of Virginia. and was born December 30, 1793; he was reared in Kentucky and Ohio, and
was married, July 30, 1818, to Miss Mary Ludlow; he removed to Fayette County, Ind., in 1838, and nine years later
located in Tipton County, and here resided until his death, which occurred September 5, 1874.
