William Hummer, son of Washington and Mary Hummer, formerly of this township, but now living in Walkerton, was
born in March, 1843. He was married in April, 1869, to Miss A. Rupe, daughter of Samuel Rupe of this tp. They have
2 children: Arthur, born Jan. 10, 1870, and Delbert, born Feb. 15, 1873. Mr. H. is a farmer, and received his education
in the common schools of the tp.; is a member of the Methodist Church at Maple Grove. Has 80 acres of land in sec.
17; P. O., South Bend.
